You don’t need a credit card to create a SimplePayment account, and you can be sending your first invoice within a few minutes.

Before you begin

You’ll need a work email address (or a Google account, if you’d rather sign up that way) and the name of the business you’ll be invoicing from.

Steps

  1. Go to the signup page.
  2. Choose how you want to sign up: enter an email address and password, or continue with Google.
  3. Choose a plan — Free, Solo, or Team. If you’re not sure yet, you can start without picking one and decide later.
  4. Confirm your email address if you signed up with email and password.
  5. Complete the short setup wizard: your business details, an optional logo upload, and your first client. Every step in the wizard can be skipped and finished later.

What happens next

What you get depends on the plan you chose at signup:

  • Free — you’re on the Free plan immediately. No trial, no card, no time limit.
  • Solo — you start a Solo-plan trial.
  • Team — you start a Team-plan trial.
  • Didn’t pick a plan — you start a Solo-plan trial by default.

Trials never require a card. If a Solo or Team trial ends without an active paid subscription, the account moves to the Free plan. See Plans & Billing for how trials, upgrades, and billing work.

Important behavior and limitations

  • One person is the account Owner. You can invite teammates later — team seats are a Team-plan feature.
  • The Free plan has a client limit and a monthly invoice limit; Solo and Team don’t.
  • There’s currently no two-factor authentication (2FA) on SimplePayment accounts — use a strong, unique password. See Password and login security for more.
